Spring 2011 Adopt a Field Program

This program is for teams/clubs and will help maintain both the appearance and quality of NEYOS practice and game fields. Your participation in the program is greatly appreciated. Coaches, players, parents and friends can all contribute. Every bit helps.

  • Do a trash patrol after practice and games. Carry all the way to the dumpster. Field crew spends a lot of NEYSO funding picking up litter on the fields and carrying trash cans to dumpsters each week.
  • Help keep grass out of goals. Bring a weed eater or small lawn mower. Please do not move the goals. Goals are heavy and staked to the ground for safety.
  • Fix soccer netting if it begins to become loose. Zip ties and string do well to hold on the nets. Contact Field Crew if you need more information.
  • Painting the goals is needed on some of the fields. A great team event would be to paint a goal. Contact Field Crew prior to painting goals to make sure the correct paint is used.
  • Contact Field Crew when there are field issues. The sooner we know about them, the sooner we can put them on the schedule for repairs.

As a pilot program under the Adopt a Field Program, NEYSO is taking field requests from teams willing to adopt a field and help out in larger ways. These fields will be reserved for this season and the next. Applications to join the pilot program are being accepted through Feb 10, 2011. Contact Field Crew for more information.

McAllister Park: U10 and younger teams will receive first consideration at McAllister Park. Only after these teams have been accommodated will any U11 and above teams be assigned space at McAllister Park.

LBJ: There are 3 large practice areas with full-sized goals available at LBJ. This is primarily for U11 and above teams.

John James: There are 4 lighted practice areas with full-sized goals available at John James. This is primarily for U11 and above teams.

Specht Road and Sitterle fields: We have many fields available for practice at our Specht Road and Sitterle complexes. Many of these fields are lighted and we can accommodate teams of any age level at these complexes.

Teams desiring to practice at local schools or other fields must submit a request to NEYSO. The field and goals must be inspected prior to use.
