NEYSO's Fall 2011 Fundraiser is underway!
We have found what we think is a unique and exciting new type of fundraiser. Fundraising is a necessary evil in our efforts to keep your registration fees down. Most people don't really like fundraisers because you overpay for cheap or small merchandise. We have all paid for our share of cookie dough and wrapping paper over the years. We have found a fundraiser that actually pays you to donate and as a bonus you are entered in a drawing for a Carribean Cruise. We are excited about the potential of this new type of fundraiser. All you have to do is get friends, family or yourself to donate $10 to NEYSO. For every $10 donation they are entered in the drawing and can redeem their ticket for a $25 restaurant.com gift card number. This number can then be used on restaurant.com to pick out your $25 coupon to your choice of over 100 local area restaurants. These are all local restaurants, not national chains. There is no limit to how many drawing entries or restaurant coupons you can get so donate as often as you want.

We will have 2 money and ticket turn-in days at McAllister Park. They will be Saturday October 8 and Saturday October 22. Both days from 9:00am to noon. Look for us near the water fountain at Anderson Fields. You may also contact any board member. The drawing will be held on October 29 around noon at McAllister Park so all tickets must be turned in before then
Resteraurant Card Redemption
Once you have donated and received your ticket follow the directions below to redeem it. Due to being scammed by people in the past the fundraising company has created very specific steps to redeemption.
1. Go to the NEYSO page of charitygetaway.com.
2. Click on Restaurant Card Redemption link.
3. Fill out the form online before you print. Do not print and then fill form by hand. You must fill out form online for it to be accepted. Too many illegible submissions. You may use one form for multiple tickets. (Hint: hit return or tab after each entry to ensure it prints correctly.)
4. Print out completed form and then sign.
5. Mail form along with a copy of all your tickets to the address on form.
6. Charity Getaway will send you an email with further instructions along with your redeemption code for restaurant.com. Make sure your email is correct on form or you will not get your code.
FAQ
Q. What portion of ticket does the purchaser keep?
A. Purchaser keeps the portion along the outside of the ticket sheet. This is the part with the NEYSO logo on it.
Q. What form of payment is acceptable?
A. We can accept cash or checks made out to NEYSO.
Q. What do I do with the filled out portion of ticket?
A. Turn the ticket portion that has the name, address, phone, etc filled out in to NEYSO. This ticket portion is what will be placed in the drawing for the cruise. Be sure it is filled out as this is how we know how to contact the winner. Tickets not filled out are void.
Q. When and where do I turn in money and tickets?
A. We will have at least 2 turn-in days listed above. Turn in to your coach or team manager who may turn it in then or to any board member.
Q. What do I do with any tickets I don't sell?
A. If you can't or don't want to sell your tickets you MUST turn the unsold tickets back in to your coach or team manger. Coach or team manager may then let another person sell them or turn them back in to NEYSO. ALL unsold tickets MUST be returned.
Q. What do I do if a ticket is lost or stolen?
A. Please report that immediately to your coach or team manager and to NEYSO so that we may contact the fundraiser company so they can void that ticket to prevent unauthorized redemption of the restaurant card.
Q. Do I have to participate in this fundraiser? Do I have to pay to opt out?
A. No you are not required to participate. We hope you do as this is the only way to keep registration fees down. NEYSO has had a lot of expenses over the summer due to the drought totally in the tens of thousands of dollars. We chose this fundraiser because it is a win-win when you factor in the $25 restaurant card. We strongly encourage everyone to participate. We are a strictly volunteer organization and we do not receive money from any outside sources and we rely soley on registration fees and fundraisers to keep operating.
Q. What if my coach or team manager has not given me tickets to sell yet?
A. There are a few teams we have not gotten the tickets to yet so if you don't have them yet please contact us ASAP so we can make arrangements to get them to your team.
Q. Do I need to fill out a seperate restaurant card redemption form for each ticket purchased?
A. No. You may put multiple ticket numbers on a single form and send copy of all tickets with your form.
Q. What restaurants will the coupon be good for?
A. This is the best part. You get to choose from thousands of local reataurants almost anywhere in the country. Not chains like Applebee's or Chili's but locally owned restaurants from small mom and pop's to high end places on the riverwalk. Go to the NEYSO page of Charity Getaway and you will find a link where you can enter a zip code to see the list of restaurants.
Q. What if I need more tickets to sell?
A. Ask your coach or team manager. They should have a few extra and if you need more contact us and we will be happy to get more to you.
Q. Do I need to be at the drawing to win?
A. No. Though we would love for the winner to be someone in the crowd at the time of the drawing you do not need to be present to win.
Q. Why does it say 3, 4 or 5 day cruise? Which do I win if drawn?
A. The length of cruise is determined by the date the winner chooses to take their cruise. Certain times of the year and certain destinations have different lengths. The winner gets to choose what works best for them. Though you may choose other ports, most logical port is Galveston. Winner is responsible for travel to and from port
Q. What if I don't like boats?
A. Winner may also choose a resort stay from hundreds of locations. Winner will make all arrangements and choices with Charity Getaway.
