NEYSO Introduces Jon Burklo and Liberty Soccer Club

On April 12, 2013, NEYSO presented the next stage in its storied history as we announced our new colors, logo, and brand: NEYSO Liberty Soccer Club. The event took place at the Soccer Factory in front of a modest crowd of NEYSO families, coaches, and board members.
President Michael Just opened the event with a note of thanks to those in attendance as well as the Soccer Factory for hosting before introducing NEYSO’s new Director of Soccer Operations, Jon Burklo. Jon, whose wife Crystal and son Harrison were in attendance, then gave a short presentation to the eagerly awaiting crowd before the unveiling finally commenced.
NEYSO Liberty SC will be a full service club catering to the needs of players across every level of play. Continuing the strong tradition of recreational play, which forms the base of the NEYSO period, Jon announced the formation of a structured soccer club by which players can continue to develop as players within Liberty SC’s academy and competitive programs. Jon continued to highlight, in a brief presentation, what the future of Liberty SC will hold as well as emphasizing that the heart of NEYSO is and will always be providing opportunities for children and teens to develop a passion for this great game while imparting life lessons that will serve them well beyond their soccer playing careers.
Jon will be busy over the coming weeks preparing the club for its first tryouts as Liberty SC in addition to hiring staff, developing a club wide curriculum focused on player development, and getting to know NEYSO players, parents, and coaches.
More information regarding the new direction of NEYSO Liberty SC will be made available as the club hosts a series of informational forums. Please continue to check out the Liberty Soccer Club page, Facebook, and Twitter for additional details!
