General information about recreational soccer in NEYSO

Recreational teams are formed by the Registrar and the NEYSO Board.

All U10 and younger teams are considered to be recreational. Teams are formed once registration is completed.

Requests for specific teams will be considered but cannot always be honored. An attempt is made to make sure as many children as possible have the opportunity to participate. To make this possible teams may be cross leveled to create as many teams as possible.

Refer to the NEYSO playing rules for further information on team formation and other rules governing the management of the teams.

Coachs are volunteers and are required to complete the age appropriate training within one year of becoming a coach.

All coaches, team moms/dads/managers are required to obtain a kidsafe pass and display this badge when participating in any NEYSO activities.

NEYSO will conduct a tryout prior to the start of each season for U11 players wishing to play on a competitive team. NEYSO registered teams needing to complete rosters will select players based on their teams needs.

Any U11 and older players not selected by a competitive team will be assigned to a Division III recreational team. The number of teams will be determined by the number of players available. Parental volunteers are encouraged to coach to allow more players to participate.
