North East Youth Soccer Organization

General Information

  1. This partnership will provide better soccer opportunities and experiences for current members of both clubs and will ensure that given the changes that are occurring in the market we can combine the resources for both NEYSO and SACSC and help sustain the vision and goals that were set forth to provide at the beginning of NEYSO.
  3. Under this provision, NEYSO will continue to run as a separate entity that is partnered along collaboration with SACSC as two joint operating programs.  NEYSO will continue to run the recreational operations in the San Antonio area; and SACSC will resume and operate the youth competitive program.

Questions & Answers

Who is SACSC?

SACSC is the rebranding of San Antonio Lonestar.  Which was formed in 2006 as the Mays YMCA Tigres with only 5 teams.  They then became affiliated with Lonestar Soccer Club in Austin in 2010. Since then, they now are the largest competitive youth soccer club in the San Antonio area with 50% more competitive teams than the next largest club.  They have over 1,059 players ranging from 4 to 18.

SACSC has made the decision to separate from Austin Lonestar in order to represent our CITY in the best way possible.

Why did we choose to integrate and partner with SACSC?

Our Board of Directors and all three Directors of Coaching voted unanimously that a partnership with SACSC was the right thing for our players.  We believe that SACSC provides an opportunity for the growth of our individual players as well as the appropriate style of play for soccer in San Antonio.  SACSC and NEYSO agreed to partner, in part, because over the last 3 years both have developed a core curriculum for soccer education that has been implemented on a club-wide basis.  Given this common philosophy of style it was obvious that a partnership between the two clubs would work.

We have recognized and understand the changes that are currently occurring within the landscape of US soccer. These changes are causing a potential threat to keep the sustainability of NEYSO. In order to be able to provide a future for our families we have pursued a partnership with the right organization.  As we met with many clubs around the city and or state we felt that we were able to align our programs together based off club philosophies. We are both currently looking to serve a community for all services needed. We believe that providing an environment for players of all ages and abilities by which we can impart the values of hard work, determination, teamwork, confidence and humility will help promote an active, healthy lifestyle and love for the “beautiful game” in the Greater San Antonio Area.

What are some of the exact benefits that help my current team?

Given that there are changes to the way teams will be structured based on their birth year we understand that we have limited options to provide the best opportunity for all teams. SACSC will help fortify rosters to overcome the impact of the calendar year age change.  They will also provide exceptional structure and significant professional administrative support.  There will be more opportunities for all the levels of play for our families.

How will I be able to sign up?

You will need to register online at

San Antonio City SC U8-U10 Jr. Academy Program:

San Antonio City SC Competitive U11-U18 Senior Soccer Program:

In regards to the style of coaching, the philosophy and methodology of coaching will remain the same.  One of the reasons that NEYSO and SACSC have agreed to partnership is that for the last 3 years both teams have developed a coaching philosophy very similar to each other where an emphasis has been placed on player development.  Our Directors of Coaching will discuss opportunities for staff and how teams are best suited with their placements of team(s).

Where will my child’s team practice?

One of the big positive benefits for both organizations is that we are able to utilize a greater variety of resources.  After the Player Placement Event(s) each team will then be assigned their coach and location for training. These are details that will need to be decided based upon several factors, but the locations can vary from McAllister Park, Starr Soccer Complex and or Specht rd.  Consideration of your child/team’s prior practice location will be considered.

How will our fees change?

SACSC has announced that their fees for this upcoming year will not change from last year.  Had NEYSO Liberty continued on a competitive program on its own we would have had to raise fees due to the realities of costs of running a club.  With these changes there is little difference in the cost of club soccer as offered through this partnership.  We have looked within the market to ensure that there isn’t a significant change within the price point.  Both NEYSO and SACSC are true 501(c)(3) organizations and we will continue to proceed in a manner that we believe is in the best interest for our participants.

Is there a player financing opportunity for families that are in need of a scholarship?

Like NEYSO, SACSC has scholarship opportunities.  One of the biggest components that helped make the decision in partnering with SACSC was the fact of their same vision, beliefs and mission in youth soccer as a non-profit organization.  This year SACSC has committed in giving over $150,000 dollars in scholarships to deserving players.  SACSC has a formalized process for families to submit a request for assistance.

What does their organizational staff look like?

SACSC has 9 full time technical staff with employment benefits dedicated to leading the technical direction of their programming.  They also have 4 full time administration staff dedicated to excellent customer service and satisfaction.  Given the mass globalization it is important that an organization have the right infrastructure. Their four full time staff members are made up to monitor their accounting systems, IT, and not limited to any other administrative support that is needed to ensure that the coaching staff is able to provide the highest level of service to its participants. The full time coaching staff is consisting of nine full time employees that help guide the programs necessary for the successful achievements of all their players and team(s).

What are some of the Proven Player Development that they have achieved?

At the moment they have 50+ players selected to State Player Pools. They have 7 players selected to Regional ODP Pools. They have 4 players selected to Regional ODP team events. They have 2 Youth National Team selected players.  They have an extensive collegiate player record with over 60+ players graduating this year alone to play collegiately since 2015.  There are constant staff workshops to ensure the education of the staff in the right learning environment.  A proven curriculum for; U4-U7, U8-U12 & U13-U19 in order to unify the approach for the #LongTermPlayerDevelopmentTrainingModel.  Not to mention SACSC formed “SA_PDF” a new u8-u10 player development league format: This model is now being mandated by the USYS for 2016-17 to play nationally.
